12 Haiku written in Shetland : set 1
time :
water : music
: rainbows
One moment, two lives;
A lifetime in one moment,
The time of our lives.
*
Whole weeks passing by:
Weeks of sun, pain, rainbows, aches -
Lived, yet not written?
*
One life for living.
Whilst time is in abundance,
Live for the moment.
Slate grey shimmering
Shot silk, Strom Loch with storm clouds
Scudding overhead.
*
Fleeting perfection,
Sun caught sea into turquoise;
Forever magic.
*
Sun sears steaming slate.
Sibilant surf swells, subsides,
Subsuming senses
Chaconne: Such sweetly
Sonorous chicanery
Shrouds simplicity.
(Purcell’s, in G minor)
*
Sun on face. Mozart
On radio. This is how
Lunch break’s meant to be.
*
Dream sing. Harmony.
O to write! Much more enjoy
The ravished senses.
Big sky; dark grey clouds;
Bright white clouds; a rainbow’s end;
Weather to enjoy!
*
Sun and rain and cloud.
See the rainbow, not the rain,
See the bright-edged cloud.
*
Bankfull peaty burns,
Floods and makeshift waterfalls,
Downpours - and rainbows.
